February 2024 Solo Training Systems Update
UPDATE FROM SOLO TRAINING SYSTEMS (SoloTDG.com)
First of all, all of us at Solo Training would like to thank you for being a loyal and consistent customer
over the years. Your satisfaction means a lot to us and we hope we’ve been successful in providing you
with excellent service and products.
For the past 3 years, Solo has worked hard on maintaining our level of service and products without
increasing our training costs. However, recent and ongoing changes within Transport Canada and ICAO’s
Air regulations have prompted us to upgrade our operations and our pricing structure for the production of our training and manual production.
EXPLANATION FOR CHANGES
With the changes to the regulations, the days of “one size fits all” training are gone and have been
replaced by customized competency-based training protocols. All training courses offered in the New
Year will be customized for each individual company. Courses will be constructed according to an
individual’s required tasks and will be composed of specialized modules. This is consistent with current
ICAO and IATA regulations.
Each course will incorporate elements of TDG101, an Introduction to Dangerous Goods. TDG101, the
basic introduction to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, will also be a stand-alone course available
for students who only require a basic introduction to the topic. (a more detailed explanation covering
TDG101 is available on our website at SoloTDG.com)
Solo incorporates the development and implementation of Competency Based Training and Assessments (CBTA) as an integral part of our course offerings. We will continue to maintain student records and offer administrators the opportunity to conduct their own guided CBTA “assessment” programs or conduct assessments through Solo as a third-party provider. In either case, we will continue to provide the vehicle for maintaining secure student records for each company.
All of Solo’s clients will have online access to a wide range of resources, including specialized field guides,
printable DG posters for Passenger and Cargo applications, applications for equivalency certificates and much more. You can review all the available resources on our website at Solotdg.com or contact us directly.
