DANGEROUS GOODS BULLETIN FOR ALL AIRSPRAY OPERATORS:

Transport Canada has released (Civil Aviation, Standards, AC 700-001) which is significant that it requires you to:

Excerpt From the latest Transport Canada Notifications:

“(3) Dangerous goods procedures and training apply to all air operators, regardless of the type of operation. The requirements vary depending on the type of air service. Cargo and mail carriers, or aerial work involving dangerous goods will have more requirements than operators who carry only passenger/crew baggage.”

Item 1: All Air Operations must have a current Transportation of Dangerous Operations Goods Manual (TDG Manual). All Dangerous Goods Manuals must reflect the current ICAO standards regardless of an earlier date of acceptance.

Item 2: All “new” training courses must be submitted to Transport Canada’s Dangerous Goods Directorate (tc.gc.ca) for approval.

Item 3: All Air Operators must include a Post-Training Competency-Based Training Assessment (CBTA) questionnaire matrix with their training course (to be conducted as a post-training assessment.)

Item 4: To submit new training course materials, they must be accompanied by a current Transportation of Dangerous Goods Operations Manual.  The Training and the Manual must parallel each other.

Item 5: The submission of a TDG Manual and training program must be made with a completed Application Form 1600-90B

Transport Canada Dangerous Goods Directorate is dictating that “all” Air Operations in Canada require a Customized Training Program(s) that must parallel the content of their Dangerous Goods Manual.
